Discussion on Work brought in for "show and tell"

In your opinion, what are the most successful aspects of the work?
I feel my work is successful in making it an eye grabbing piece aesthetically or by creating something that will lure any of the other senses.

In your opinion, what are the areas you most need to grow that were evidenced in the creation and presentation of this piece? 
I believe I have to work on my presentation skills and appreciating/documenting the process of either pieces or experimentation's.   


In general, what are the most successful aspects of your current practice? Areas of greatest opportunity for growth?

That I am able to recycle material and form it something it was not originally intended for. Growth can be research and planning.

Sculpture in the Expanded Field

What would have been so problematic about the classification of these artists' works at the time they were made? 
-the classification of the term sculpture was ambiguous and far fetched to what it had been classically done for past years compared to the artists of the time. 


This text was written in the late 1970's. How may we find ourselves in a similar situation today, with regards to identifying/cataloguing and understanding current creative practice? 
-I believe that in every era of either a creation of a category or sub-category specifying artwork comes first with experimentation, but specifically now it is a concept that is being embraced through the advancement in technology. Even though there is an abrasive attitude for some people, there's a difficult or an apprehensive belief on what really is artwork and what isn't. 

Of the object-oriented "sculptural" work being made today, what type of work do you find most challenging to accept or understand? 
-i am puzzled with galleries or museums that have artwork under the label of it as a 3-d work and label it as experimental painting which consists of work with texture that can identify work that is either two dimensional or three dimensional.
